Illinois State Museum Seeks Artists

The Illinois State Museum's Illinois Artisans Program is seeking the best artists in the state, according to a news release from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. Artists and artisans in all media are invited to apply for the program.

Juried members of the program are able to market their work through sales galleries in Chicago and Rend Lake and through museum stores in Springfield and Lewistown, the release said. There are currently more than 1,600 artists in the program.

Artists must live and work in Illinois and must submit an application, artist statement, resume, self-addressed stamped envelope, six to 10 digital images and a $20 application fee to the Illinois State Museum Society. Submissions must be received by March 28.

For more information or an application visit www.museum.state.il.us/artisans or send a self-addressed stamped envelope to Illinois Artisans Program, James R. Thompson Center, 100 W. Randolph, Suite 2-200, Chicago, IL 60601.
